A Felicitous Takeover

10 October 2020

Hello, folks! My website has been sold out for a while, but I’ve got good news for you. On Saturday, October 17th , the (virtual) shelves will be stocked with the colorful and whimsical work of my friend Felissa.

Felissa has always enjoyed art. During her undergraduate art degree, she fell in love with the riveting and therapeutic processes of sculpture. Working with her hands was intuitive, playful, and meditative. Around three years ago, she began to focus on functional wheel-thrown pottery.

“I am interested in objects of repetition and the connection between artist and user: a favorite mug for your morning coffee, reached for time and again. A weeknight dinner with your partner. How beautiful it is to enter a moment of your intimate routines with something handmade and to create a moment of joy in the everyday. I believe in art’s ability to open our eyes to meaning in the mundane—our deep connection to the earth and to one another, and our collective stories, griefs, and joys. May you experience a moment of joy and peace each time you use one of these pieces, knowing that it was carefully made for you.”

So stay tuned—we’ll see you on the 17th!
